Lime Orange - Westminster

Super tasty Korean food at this family run restaurant. Lime Orange has a cosy vibe, with warm lighting and one level of seating.

For starters we had Kimchee (of course!) and Modum Namul (an assortment of vegetables, bean sprouts, spinach, radish & cucumber, seasoned with sesame oil & vinegar). Kimchee Jeon (savory Korean pancakes made with kimchee and spring onion) and Yangyeum Chicken (deep fried chicken wings coated in sweet chilli sauce with ground nuts sprinkled on top). I would go back for the Kimchee Jeon alone! They were exceptional. Fluffy and light pancakes teamed with two complimentary sauces, which added some zing. Really tasty stuff. My husband loved the yangyeum chicken, which is a must when dining Korean style!

We moved onto the mains -
Tofu Bibimbap (steamed rice and vegetables including carrots, beansprouts, tofu and egg yolk) and a side of miso soup, which is included when you order this dish.

Beef Bulgogi - Korean BBQ beef (thinly sliced beef marinated in a blend of fruits and soy sauce) accompanied by lettuce, carrots, cucumbers and rice, which are rolled together. I made the lettuce wraps by spooning a little rice into each lettuce leaf. Topped with some beef and a piece of veg or two. Then rolled into a wrap and stuffed in my mouth!

Seafood Soft Tofu (hot pot with soft tofu, vegetables and egg). If you like spice, give the seafood soft tofu soup a try, it was lovely and warming, great in the approaching colder months!

And finally a light and refreshing dessert, one scoop of Black Seaseme Ice Cream and one scoop of Green Tea Ice Cream served with very cute smiley face embossed spoons.

We felt thoroughly stuffed and happy with the meal. Great service from the staff who were attentive and made us feel at home. The restaurant had a healthy stream of people dining, which is a good sign that the restaurant is popular. After dining there, I can understand why - with a varied menu, it is as authentic as you can get without travelling to Seoul! Definitely worth a visit.

Ahi Poke - Fitzrovia

Poke is a raw fish salad and usually a starter in Hawaii. Here in the UK it's a great quick and healthy lunch or dinner.

Choose your base and pick your toppings at Ahi Poke. Their fish is sustainably caught too.

I went for the Heat Wave with Quinoa, Salmon, Avocado, Red Onion, Kimchee Cucumber & Coriander which tasted so fresh and had a kick! Hubby went for the Oahu with Rice, Ahi Tuna, Red Onion, Fried Onion, Radish, Carrot & Coriander which had a great crunch to it along with all the wonderful flavours. The restaurant is really cute too!
